Miss Kansas 2008, Emily Deaver

Miss Kansas 2008 is Miss Augusta Emily Deaver, 19.

The Miss Kansas competition was held June 5-7 in Pratt, Kan.

Emily was the Thursday night preliminary talent winner (she did a vocal/piano performance), Friday night preliminary evening wear winner and the winner of the Thursday night Lesley Moss Preliminary Swimsuit Award.

In the event Emily can't finish out the year as Miss Kansas, 1st runner-up and Topeka native Miss Sedgwick County Danielle Coffman, 21, would take the title.

Danielle is a Washburn University student.

Two other area contestants - Miss Capital City Megan Ensley and Miss Flint Hills Erica Mahan - finished in the Top 12.

I guess they must have agreed - I see the picture has been changed. How unfair to the winner to post the runner up picture with an article stating We Have A New Miss Kansas! How many looked at the picture and thought she was it until you read the article? Misleading journalism at its finest....

Pictures of miss sedgwick county and miss capitol city, but no picture of the new miss kansas, kinda strange.
