Shawnee County went two and one in its retesting of three emergency sirens Tuesday.

Two sirens that were too quiet in tests Monday checked out okay Tueday. Those sirens are located near State Street Elementary School and Our Lady of Guadelupe Church. The third siren, at SE 6th and Deer Creek Trafficway, was still silent.

Shawnee County Emergency Management Director Dave Sterbenz says the problem with the SE 6th siren appears to be dead batteries. He'll have a company come out to check it.
