A race against childhood obesity took to the lawns and trails of the Kansas History Center Friday evening.

The Great Plains Running Company held its second annual Saucony - Red Robin Kids Fun Run. Dozens of children from kindergarten to sixth grade hit the starting line for quarter mile, half mile and one mile runs. Several parents joined in with them.

The event is meant to promote awareness and research in the area of childhood obesity. Great Plains owner Karen Lambertwe really want to emphasize family fun and fitness... exactly what we're all about.))
