A former Topeka doctor accused in the death of a patient is headed to prison.

John Toth was sentenced Friday to 32-months and was immediately taken into custody. Toth pleaded no contest last fall to a reduced charge of reckless involuntary manslaughter.

Prosecutors say a patient of his died in 2006 when he gave her treatments for Lyme disease, which she didn't have. His offices were closed in June 2005 when the Kansas Board of Healing Arts limited his license to practice medicine.

As part of his plea, Toth was required to surrender his medical license.
