TPD Investigates Purse Snatching Save Email Print

Topeka Police are continuing to investigate a purse snatching that occurred at about 2:50 p.m. Wednesday. A woman in her 70s reported she was walking to her vehicle in the Dillons parking lot at 5720 SW 21st when she was approached by a man who grabbed her purse and displayed a knife.

During a brief struggle over the purse, the woman received minor injuries from the knife, but refused medical treatment at the scene.

The suspect is described as a dark-skinned male in his mid-20s, about 5’8” with a stocky build. He was last seen wearing a ball cap and a black jacket. He left the area in a green or teal colored, four-door passenger vehicle.

Police are continuing to investigate and ask that anyone with information please contact detectives at 368-9400 or Crime Stoppers at 234-0007.

You know this probably would of never happen to this lady if only the lazy security quards they have at dillions would of been doing there job right like walking and patroling the outside of the store instead of always being seen inside the stores
