A 73-year-old Valley Falls woman accidentally hit the gas and slammed her car into a wall of the Meriden Community Library on Wednesday, February 27.

Eagle Ridge Enterprise crews are working to rebuild that portion of the library.

Some of the costs for the repairs are covered by insurance, but the library is accepting monetary donations.

"We're rebuilding the walls, putting in new windows, putting in a new door. We're doing the dry wall, finishing it all out," said Troy Shields, a worker for Eagle Ridge Enterprises. "We're putting in that extra mile to get it done for them. We know the people want their library back so we're trying to get it back to them as fast as possible."

If you want to help by making a monetary donation, send it to c/o Friends of the Meriden Community Library, 7272 K-4 Highway, Suite D, Meriden, KS 66512.
