A tornado that touched down southwest of Wichita Sunday afternoon packed more of a punch than originally thought.
The National Weather Service in Wichita said the tornado has been re-classified as an EF-2. It had initially been classified as an EF-1.
EF-2 tornadoes can carry winds estimated up to 135 miles per hour.
The tornado damaged several homes near Clearwater.
