Another round of rain arrived in Wichita just in time for the Friday morning commute, making driving a challenge and adding to concerns about flooding.
KAKE News visited Pawnee and Oliver, where several cars stalled in a flooded intersection. City crews were on overnight standby status, even before the National Weather Service projected one to two inches of rain by 7:00 a.m.
One weather spotter reported 1.1 inches of rain in the Maize area, near West 119th Street and Central. The Oxford area had 1.26 inches.
Westar Energy reports about 930 Sedgwick County customers lost power as the storm line moved through. The outages ended quickly.
Flash flood warnings were posted for several Kansas counties, on top of the earlier watches and warnings due to river and creek flooding.
