High Water Closes Sedgwick County Road

Friday, March 30, 2012

Heavy rains have forced an eastern Sedgwick County road to close.

Flood waters damaged a bridge near 159th St. and Lincoln St after a thunderstorm dumped more than an inch of rain in the area.

Officials said the road is impassible during high water; drivers should avoid the area.

Crews are currently removing the damaged asphalt and making temporary repairs. The road is expected to reopen on Saturday after repair work is complete.
