3-29-07 - Officials in western Kansas are reporting only minor damage from several tornadoes overnight. Weather spotters tracked a series of tornadoes across mostly rural, sparsely populated areas in the western part of the state.

In Hodgeman County, Kansas, several rural homes were destroyed near Jetmore. The large, wedge-shaped tornado was spotted by deputies and storm spotters around 9:07pm and was tracked on the ground for 24 minutes.
A husband and wife in Oklahoma were killed when a twister blew their home to pieces. A Colorado woman has died after being airlifted for hospital treatment. The streets of her community of Holly, Colorado, are littered with broken power lines, tree limbs and debris. Dozens of homes are damaged. Five are destroyed.
A line of storms stretched nearly the length of the nation overnight, but experts say the worst is likely over. The same storm system has dumped snow on Wyoming, and hail, rain and strong winds on the Texas panhandle region.
Storm chasers reported a tornado east of Bird City in Cheyenne
County, and another one northeast of Goodland in Sherman County.
In Wallace County, sheriff's officials say several tornadoes knocked tree limbs onto roads and caused other damage, but nothing severe.
