StormCall To Alert Kansas Elementary Schools About Severe Weather

Saturday, May 3, 2009

This week, Managing Meteorologist Jay Prater and Bob Lane from McDonald’s went to Nelson Elementary in Haysville to kick off the KAKE StormCall program.

Nelson Elementary was damaged in the tornado that hit 10 years ago today.

KAKE’s StormCall will send out phone, email and text alerts only when your school or home is within a tornado or severe storm warning area.

All public elementary schools in the KAKEland viewing area will receive a free one-year subscription to KAKE StormCall courtesy McDonald’s.
