If you have plans to travel to Southeast Kansas this week, the weather may change your plans.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for Southeast Kansas from Monday afternoon through Tuesday afternoon.
The weather service predicts freezing drizzle and sleet is expected to develop in the area Monday morning. The precipitation is expected to increase in coverage and intensity by Monday afternoon.
Ice accumulations of up to 1/4 of an inch or sleet accumulations of up to 2 inches will be possible in the area.
Cities in the watch area include Sedan, Independence, Chanute & Coffeyville. Wichita is not included in the watch area.
