This holiday weekend in KAKEland is looking relatively uneventful as far as weather goes.

KAKE Managing Meteorologist Jay Prater says folks in the Wichita-area can expect a chance of a small amount of rain possibly mixed with some snow late Thursday night into Friday.

Western Kansas has a slight chance at seeing some snow Thanksgiving night into Friday. Jay says the amount would be minuscule - not amounting to any accumulation.

The Kansas Highway Patrol and other agencies will focus on impaired drivers, child passenger safety laws, and on seat belt use among travelers of all ages.

Because of the STEP campaign funding, there will be more troopers,
deputies, and police officers on the streets and highways during the
upcoming Thanksgiving holiday period, when travel increases in Kansas
and across the nation.

Stay with KAKE and for the latest on your holiday travel forecast.
