A storm that has dumped two feet of snow in the Great Lakes region is moving south toward West Virginia and Maryland.
New York has been hardest hit, with 24 inches in Constableville, and at least 23 inches in the Buffalo area. More than a foot of snow fell in Pennsylvania and Michigan.
Police report a number of traffic accidents in Pennsylvania, Ohio and New York. In Michigan, two tractor-trailers slid off the road and overturned.
Up to a foot of snow is forecast for northern Indiana, with 10 inches possible in the Cleveland, Ohio, area. A winter storm warning is posted for the West Virginia Mountains and Maryland Panhandle.
