The hit game show "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" is looking for Midwesterners who want to try their luck in the Millionaire hot seat, for the opportunity to win $1 million! Those who audition may be considered at producer's sole discretion, for either the syndicated version of the show, hosted by Meredith Vieira or the 10th Anniversary Edition of Millionaire which will air on ABC this August and will be hosted by Regis Philbin.
Contestant auditions will be held in Kansas City, MO on Monday, June 29 from 7:00 - 11:00 am at Ameristar Casino Kansas City (3200 N. Ameristar Dr., Kansas City, MO 64161). The line will form outside the Pavilion on the west end of the property. No one will be admitted in line before 6:00 am.
The syndicated version of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" with host Meredith Vieira, will premiere its eighth season on September 7, 2009 and can be seen locally on KAKE, weekdays at 11:00 a.m. This fall, Millionaire will move to 4:30 pm.
In celebration of the 10 year anniversary of the franchise, Regis Philbin will return to ABC's primetime schedule this August for a special two-week run of Millionaire. When the show premiered on ABC in 1999, it was an overnight sensation that quickly had everyone asking 'Is that your Final Answer?' and talking trivia around the water cooler. The 10th Anniversary Edition of Millionaire will continue many of the strongest elements of the original show, along with some of the more recent modifications to the format that were streamlined over the show's lifespan in syndication. It will air locally on KAKE, Sunday - Thursday, 8:00 - 9:00 pm ET beginning Sunday, August 9 and culminating on Sunday, August 23.
