The New York City medical examiner's office says actress Natasha Richardson died of blunt impact to the head.

The Tony Award-winning actress died Wednesday after falling on a
ski slope in Canada.

Medical examiner spokeswoman Ellen Borakove says the death was
ruled an accident. The cause of death was "epidural hematoma due
to blunt impact to the head."

Funeral arrangements for the 45-year-old actress will be handled
by the Greenwich Village Funeral Home.
