A seventh-grader is hoping to find a family that will help spread her wings.
Shelby, 12, has been in foster care for about eight years. She said she has had a rough childhood. She compared her life to birds recovering at the Eagle Valley Raptor Center.
“She can do anything because she has love and care out here,” Shelby said.
Her love for animals extends beyond feathered friends. Shelby said she wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up.
“If they are hurt and they could not walk at all, I would tell them grab my shoulders and I’ll guide you,” she said.
Shelby said she would prefer a home in the country, to help give back to a forever family.
