WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - The Wichita Fire Department says they were able to put out a fire in the 2000 block of S. Euclid Ave. quickly early Sunday evening.

According to WFD Captain Stephen Runyan, crews responded just after 6:30 p.m. to the fire. When they arrived, heavy fire was showing on the back side of the home.

Neighbors reported hearing explosions, that prompted them to call 911. Initial investigations show that a 20-pound propane tank may have exploded.

There was no damage to other homes, and no injuries.

At this time, the cause is still under investigation, and there is no damage estimate at this time.


The Wichita Fire Department is working on a large house fire in the 2000 block of S. Euclid Ave. 

The fire was called into emergency dispatch at approximately 6:35 p.m.
