KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KAKE) - The body of the 3-year-old Kansas girl has been found according to officials.

Kansas City, Kansas police officers found the body  after 5:30 p.m. Friday. Officers discovered the body in a wooded area in the 3400 block of Steele in Kansas City.

The case remains under investigation.


Authorities have issued an Amber Alert for a 3-year-old girl who disappeared from her home in Kansas City, Kansas.

An Amber Alert was issued just before noon Friday for Olivia Ann Jansen. She was last seen at her home in the 4400 block of Gibbs Road, just off of Interstate 635 and north of I-35.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation's website says Olivia's father woke up at 6:30 a.m. and discovered his daughter was not in the home. The girl was not in the home, and the back door was open.

"Due to her age and a search of the area, investigators believe that she was taken from the location," the Amber Alert says. "There is no suspect information at this time and no known suspect vehicle.

KMBC reports that officials are investigating two scenes. A person has been taken to the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department and is cooperating.
