WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Authorities say a 20-year-old man was hurt when he crashed and flipped off of Interstate 135 in Wichita.

It happened at around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday on southbound I-135 near 9th Street. The Kansas Highway Patrol says a Chevy Silverado was heading south when it sideswiped a Ford pickup's passenger side mirror and left the roadway.

The Chevy then struck KDOT sand barrels and went over the barrier wall and landed on the ground between I-135 and the exit.

The driver was initially listed in critical condition, but the patrol's online crash log says he only had minor injuries. The other driver was not hurt.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The right lane and exit ramp at 9th Street were closed for several hours.
