Kansas mail truck driver sentenced for theft

A contract mail truck driver in Chanute has been sentenced for stealing money from the mail.

A news release from US Attorney Stephen McAllister say 51-year-old David Logan pleaded guilty on Monday to two counts of mail theft. Logan admitted to stealing money from pieces of mail on his route. 

In one count, Logan said he stole two pieces of mail with $50 and $675. In the second count, he admitted to stealing three pieces of mail containing $100, $130, and $70. 

Logan was sentenced to two years on federal probation and ordered to pay more than $3,000 in restitution.
