Police: Man dies after knife attack at Wichita home

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Wichita police say a 19-year-old man has died after a suspect allegedly cut his neck with a knife on Saturday.

Capt. Brent Allred said that Vincent Venturella died Monday evening. Jail records show the suspect, 24-year-old Morgan Prager, is being held for first-degree murder as well as attempted first-degree murder.

The incident happened at around 5 p.m. Saturday at a home in the 200 block of North Spruce, near 1st and Grove. Prager was arrested in Pittsburg, Kansas. 

Investigators say said the incident stemmed from an ongoing disturbance regarding Prager's sister who is Venturellas ex-girlfriend.

Wichita police say a 24-year-old man has been arrested for attempted murder after he allegedly cut a man's neck with a knife. 

Police spokesperson Charley Davidson said Morgan Prager was arrested in Pittsburg, Kansas, and was transported to the Sedgwick County Jail where he was booked for attempted first-degree murder. 

The incident happened at around 5 p.m. Saturday at a home in the 200 block of North Spruce, near 1st and Grove. Officers responded to a report of an assault and arrived to find the 19-year-old victim with a severe laceration to his neck. 

Police say Prager arrived at the home and a disturbance ensued. Prager is accused of cutting the victim's neck with a knife before he fled. 

The Wichita Police Department learned Prager lives in Pittsburg and coordinated with police there to take him into custody. 

Investigators say said the incident stemmed from an ongoing disturbance regarding Prager's sister who is the victim's ex-girlfriend.
