WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

In just the 6th ever meeting between two AP top 25 teams inside Koch Arena, #23 Wichita State beat #21 Memphis 76-67 on Thursday. The Shockers have now won eight straight games.

WSU was sparked by a near-perfect start to the game. The Shockers jumped out to a 17-4 lead, and led by as many as 19 in the second-half.

Sophomore point guard Jamarius Burton made a few acrobatic layups down the stretch on the way to his team leading 16 points.

The Shockers were out rebounded by Memphis, but got numerous offensive boards when it mattered.

WSU improves to 14-1 and 2-0 in the AAC.
