Missing 88-year-old Salina man found safe in Wichita

SALINA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Salina police say an 88-year-old man missing for several weeks has been found in Wichita and is safe.

Capt. Paul Forrester said an investigation led to information that Leonard McIver was possibly in Wichita. He was located by a WPD officer on Thursday. He was safe and in good health. 

Capt. Forrester thanked the public and the Wichita Police Department for their help.

Salina police are asking for the public's help in locating an 88-year-old man who has been missing for several weeks. 

Police on Wednesday issued a Silver Alert for Leonard Clayton McIver. He stands 5-foot-6, weighs 180 pounds and is balding with gray hair and brown eyes. 

McIver was last heard from on December 18. Police said in a news release that he does have a red 2014 Camaro with expired Kansas tag 312GAN. It's unknown if he still drives it.
