WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

The Emergency Accident Reporting Plan, or EARP, is in effect in Wichita beginning Sunday morning. Wichita Police issued the following statement:

"EARP is in effect for the City of Wichita," police stated. "If you're in an accident, where there are no injuries, no alcohol or drugs are involved, drive to any QuikTrip or Wichita Police Department substation to fill out an accident report."

That means you do not have to call 911 if you are involved in a minor crash, as stated above.

The EARP allows 911 dispatchers and first responders to focus on crashes or other incidents where people might need immediate medical assistance.
