Rail yard worker killed in north Wichita train accident

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

A rail yard employee has died after an incident involving a train in north Wichita.

It happened just after 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Emergency crews responded to a report of a person trapped under a train in the 2600 block of North New York.

Wichita police say some workers were loading and moving rail cars around when the 46-year-old man became stuck under one of the rail cars and was run over. 

Police spokesperson Charley Davidson did not release the man's name but said he was from McPherson.
