Giving Tuesday: where your money in the red kettle goes

Posted: Updated:
WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

It's giving Tuesday, and by now you've probably heard bell ringing all around Wichita.

But do you know where the money in those red kettles go?

The Wichita salvation army serves nearly 200,000 people throughout the year, and all of the donations stay local.

They provide tens of thousands of nights lodging, meals, shelter, Christmas toys and more.

The salvation army also encourages folks to thank bell ringers next time you see them around town.
