2 bald eagles rescued in Missouri

Posted: Updated:

Authorities have rescued two bald eagles in Missouri in just over a week.

The latest rescue happened Sunday southeast of Springfield in Douglas County. The sheriff's office said on Facebook that they took a call about the half-grown eagle. A conservation agent contacted a local zoo about getting the eagle the help it needs.

Missouri conservation agents also rescued an injured bald eagle Monroe County late last month.

The University of Missouri’s Raptor Rehabilitation Project took that eagle for treatment and observation, the Missouri Department of Conservation said on Facebook.
