Woman arrested in connection with murder in Salina

Police are investigating a weekend murder in Salina.

At approximately 4:30 p.m. Saturday, dispatchers sent both emergency responders and Salina Police to a North 10th Street residence for a medical emergency.  Upon arrival, they discovered 52-year-old Phillip R. Grubbs Jr. dead at the scene.  

Sixty-year-old Melani Grubbs, Philip Grubbs' wife, has been identified as a suspect in the murder after a police investigation. She was booked into the Salina County Jail on one count of second-degree murder and one count of felon in possession of a firearm.

This police investigation is on-going.
