Fire crews investigate early morning house fire

Fire crews are asking you to avoid Lincoln and Waco while they investigate a morning house fire.

The fire broke out around 6:15 Saturday morning in the 1200 block of S. Waco. Crews saw smoke and flames billowing out of the home when they arrived on scene. A fire supervisor says the fire was towards the front center of the home and they had to poke a hole in the roof to let the flames escape.

Two people inside the home were able to escape with their bird and a dog unharmed, but investigators are still looking for two cats.

If you're in the area, fire crews still have Lincoln and Waco closed while they investigate what happened and ask you to not drive over any fire hoses they have in the area.

The American Red Cross is also helping the two people from the home.
