Wichita school buses were filled with something other than students this week and parents couldn't be more thankful for the surprise.

First Student partners with the Wichita Public Schools every holiday season. This year, giving nearly 40 students a complete Thanksgiving meal. But kids in need say, the bus drivers gave them more than just food. "The part where my family comes together and then i get to see my whole family from Texas," says Makayla, a 7th grader.

About 17,000 kids board these buses in Wichita everyday and officials say, it's not just about transporting the students, it's about making a difference in their lives.

"Our drivers and our monitors and our staff really love to give back to those kiddos on our bus," says Renee Boydo, First Student Program Manager.

Three years ago, bus drivers and monitors could only provide ten meal But now, because of generous donations the program has taken off. "I'm so incredibly proud of our staff and our drivers and the people we work with," says Boydo.

First Student is hoping to help even more families next year. "Thanks for you guys for helping out for me and my kids, because it's tough being a single parent of three kids," says Christina Greenhaw, parent.
