Man ejected, killed in rollover crash in central Kansas

Authorities say a 29-year-old man was ejected from his car when when it went airborne and rolled in a central Kansas field.

The accident happened at around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday east of Russell at 187th and 15th streets. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports Dustin Lehrmeyer's car went into a ditch and he over-corrected. His car slid across both lanes and into the opposing ditch, went airborne into a field and rolled several times.

Lehrmeyer, of Hays, was ejected and died at the scene. The patrol's online crash log says he was not wearing a seat belt.
