Haysville woman charged in deadly Wichita shooting

A woman who allegedly shot and killed a 41-year old man in south Wichita earlier this week has been charged with second-degree murder.

Stacey Peters, 45, made her first court appearance in Sedgwick County District Court Friday afternoon.

Officers responded early Tuesday morning to a shooting in the 3000 block of South Hillside. When they arrived at the warehouse-type facilty, they found 41-year-old Robert Dwayne Duvaul inside with a single gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers also found Peters inside the building and arrested her without incident.

Investigators learned Peters and Duvaul were in a relationship, and, while at the location, Peters fired a handgun at him, striking him. The handgun was also recovered during the investigation.

Peters, of Haysville, is currently being held in the Sedgwick County Jail on $125,000 bond. Her next court appearance is scheduled for December 5th.
