WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Wichita police say they've arrested a 30-year-old man for allegedly setting a fire at a local gas station.

Officers and firefighters were called at around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday to the report of a suspect starting a fire outside the entrance to the Presto in the 500 block of North Seneca, near McLean.

Police spokesperson Charley Davidson said Robert Ward poured gas on a rug outside the entrance and lit it on fire. Investigator's believe Ward's mental health may have played a role in the incident.

The fire did not cause any significant damage.

Ward, of Haysville, was arrested and booked for one count of arson. His bond was set at $20,000.

Kansas Department of Corrections records show Ward has spend time on Community Corrections and in prison for a theft conviction in 2016.
