Northern Iowa defeats WSU Women in season opener

Northern Iowa outscored the Shockers in the 3rd and 4th quarters to hand Wichita State a 61-50 loss in their opener. 

Trajata Colbert led the Shockers with 12 points, while Maya Brewer added 11. 

Wichita State shot 30 percent from the floor, connecting on only 18 field goals. 

The Shockers hit the road next for a Monday match up with Oral Roberts.
