WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Wichita police say a 62-year-old man faces several charges after he was allegedly looking in a girl's window and was confronted by her father.

Police spokesperson Charley Davidson said Mark Lawson was booked for aggravated assault, battery, criminal trespass, breach of privacy, electronic solicitation and sexual exploitation of a child.

Officers responded at around 9:20 p.m. Wednesday to a disturbance with weapons call at a home in the 1900 block of South Custer. The girl's dad told police his daughter heard noises outside her window and he confronted Lawson in the backyard.

Davidson said Lawson assaulted the girl's father as he tried to leave, but he was detained until officers arrived.

The investigation led to the listed charges, but Davidson did not state what warranted the solicitation and sexual exploitation counts. KAKE News has reached out for clarification.

The investigation is ongoing and will be presented to the Sedgwick County district attorney's office.
