A man from Eastern Kansas survived a house explosion early Saturday morning.

The explosion happened around 11:40 Saturday morning just southwest of Milford, a town in Allen County.

The Iola Register reports that a 62-year old man was in his home when the explosion happened. The blast blew away the front walls of his house.

The Allen County Sheriff's Department said that three people who live near the rural home rendered aid to the man and saved his life. He was flown to an Overland Park Hospital where he is in stable condition with several broken bones.

The State Fire Marshall is in Allen County, trying to discover what caused the explosion.

This does not appear to be connected to the sound heard in Wichita Saturday afternoon.
