Man jumped from car during argument with wife, Wichita police say
Police believe a man who was found dead in a west Wichita street Monday evening had jumped from a moving car during an argument with his wife.
Officers found 36-year-old Chad Lee in the street near Central and Maize Road after responding to reports of an injury accident. EMS attempted live-saving measures, but Lee was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officer Charley Davidson said Lee was the passenger in a red Ford Fusion being driven by his 32-year-old wife. An argument occurred and it appears that that Lee willfully jumped from the vehicle as it was heading south at about 35 mph.
Lee struck the ground, causing his fatal head injury.
Davidson said investigators don't suspect foul play at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
