LYNDON, Kan. (KAKE) -

Authorities have arrested a 53-year-old Kansas woman for alleged cruelty involving multiple dogs.

The Osage County Sheriff's Office said that Christi Lynne Shaffer was arrested Wednesday for 20 counts of animal cruelty and three counts of permitting a dangerous animal to be at large.

The sheriff’s office issued a public warning last weekend regarding dogs that were reported loose west of Lyndon. Sheriff Laurie Dunn later said Shaffer's Alaskan Tundra Shepherds had been moved from the property.

A Facebook post from a Topeka news reporter says about 20 dogs were causing concern after small animals had been killed and one person was attacked.

The sheriff's office was unable to comment on the current status of the animals.
