Multiple break-ins in Wichita involve 'white SUV'

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Wichita Police believe a recent rash of break-in reports are connected.

"It seems like a big risk for a very small reward. Looks like this guy is mostly going to get caught," said David Kortje, owner of Bliss Climbing and Fitness, by K-96 and Greenwich, in northeast Wichita.

Bliss Climbing was burglarized at the beginning of the month.

"He knew what he wanted. He wanted cash. He wanted to get out fast," said Kortje.

From surveillance video, the scenario looks like this.

A thief drives a white SUV, gets out to look through windows, throws a rock into the glass door, takes the cash register, and drives away.

Anyone with information about the suspect or the suspect vehicle is encouraged to call police or Crime Stoppers at (316) 267-2111.
