Police still seeking help after dog found in ditch near Wichita dies

Police in suburban Wichita are asking for the public's help after a injured dog was dumped in a ditch and later died. 

Beauties and Beasts said Wednesday night on Facebook that the dog, Steele, died due to complications from his injuries. 

Bel Aire police said the dog was found Tuesday morning in a ditch off of 53rd Street between Rock and Webb roads. The dog was stabilized and taken a vet for treatment before being cared for by the rescue group. 

Police say the investigation is ongoing and they are still requesting help from anyone who might have information. You can call the Bel Aire Police Department at (316) 744-6000.

Authorities are asking for the public's help after an injured dog was found dumped along a suburban Wichita road. 

The Bel Aire Police Department said the dog was found Tuesday morning in a ditch on 53rd Street North between Rock and Webb roads. The dog was stabilized and taken a vet for treatment.

"Doesn't this just break your heart?" Bel Aire police said on Facebook. "At this point we do not know where he came from and how he sustained his injuries."
