DOUGLAS COUNTY, Kan. (KAKE) -

Three people, including a baby, have died in a crash Friday night in northeast Kansas.

The accident took place around 5:40 p.m. on U.S. 59 -- a little more than two miles south of Lawrence.

Tiffany Cox was driving south of the highway. The Kansas Highway Patrol says, for an unknown reason, Cox lost control of the car and crossed over a grassy median in to the northbound lanes.

The driver of a car, heading north, hit the side of Cox’s car.

Everyone in Cox’s car died in the crash, including passengers Kiffany Mietchen and Azreal Ubelaker. Cox is a 20-year-old from Ottawa, Kan.; Mietchen is a 19-year-old from Baldwin City; and Ubelaker is a 8-month-old from Baldwin City, according to the KHP crash reports.

The driver of the second vehicle is a 62-year-old man from Topeka. He had minor injuries.
