5 town homes damaged in 3-alarm fire in south Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

A three-alarm fire damaged five town homes in south Wichita on Tuesday.

Emergency crews were called at around 9:45 a.m. Tuesday to a fire at 55th Street South and Gold, which is east of Seneca. Lt. Jose Ocadiz with the Wichita Fire Department said about an hour later that the fire was under control and crews were checking for hot spots.

Ocadiz said a third alarm was issued due to the spread of the flames. The rear of the structure was heavily damaged, and five town homes were involved. 

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Fire crews are working to control a three-alarm apartment fire in far south Wichita. 

Emergency crews were called at around 9:45 a.m. Tuesday to a fire at 55th Street South and Gold, which is east of Seneca. A dispatch supervisor said no injuries were reported. 

The Wichita Fire Department said in a Tweet just after 10 a.m. that a third alarm had been issued. 

Additional information was not immediately available.
