Man dies after fight at Kansas house party

Authorities say a 42-year-old Kansas man who was injured in a fight at a house party has died. 

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation said in a news release that Jason Pantle, of Cummings, died Saturday at KU Medical Center where he was being treated for head injuries. 

The incident happened at a party in Doniphan County on Sunday, September 22. 

The KBI expects aggravated battery charges against three men to be amended.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation has arrested three men in connection to a fight that happened in northeast Kansas, leaving one man in critical condition. 

A news release from the KBI says a 42-year-old man received serious head injuries during a fight at a party in Doniphan County on Sunday. The party was held at 159 Monument Road. A family member took the victim to a house in Atchison where emergency crews were called at around 4:20 a.m. on Sunday. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition. 

On Wednesday, KBI agents arrested three men in connection to the incident. 44-year-old Scott Vandeloo was arrested at around 6 p.m. in Platte City, Missouri for Aggravated battery and booked into the Platte County Jail. 

At around 7 p.m., 22-year-old Brian Spillman Jr. surrendered in rural Doniphan County and was arrested for aggravated battery. 30-year-old Matthew Scherer was also arrested for aggravated battery after surrendering at the Doniphan County Sheriff's Office. Both were booked into the Leavenworth County Jail.
