LIBERAL, Kan. (KAKE) -

A 25-year-old Kansas woman faces multiple charges after a alleged DUI crash that ejected two young children.

Emergency crews were called just before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday to a crash in the 600 block of East 2nd Street in Liberal. Police say they received multiple reports that two children had been ejected from the vehicle and that the driver was possibly intoxicated.

They arrived to find the woman was trying to flee in her Chevy Tahoe and took her into custody.

Liberal police said in a news release that the driver was heading west at a high rate of speed when she lost control and left the roadway. Her SUV hit a fence and then rolled onto its side before coming to rest back on its wheels.

The woman was the only person who was properly restrained, the release says. A 3-year-old girl and 2-year-old boy were ejected in the crash. They suffered only minor injuries. A 5-year-old boy and two adults were not hurt.

Police are seeking charges of DUI, reckless driving, driving without a license, three counts of aggravated child endangerment, three counts of no child restraint, leaving the scene of an accident and two counts of aggravated battery while DUI.

Police did not release the driver's name.
