Man who broke into Wichita restaurant ate chicken fingers, stole lottery tickets: Police

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Wichita police say they've identified a man accused of breaking into a restaurant last month. 

The crime happened at around 1:50 a.m. on August 15th and Heritage Restaurant at 4551 South Broadway. The Wichita Police Department says the suspect entered the business through a roof vent.

"As the suspect attempted to slide through the vent, his shoe came off and the shorts he was wearing were torn. The suspect fell into the kitchen and roamed around the restaurant. He then ate chicken fingers out of the refrigerator and stole lottery tickets."

There was also pry damage found to a storage shed where an attempt was made to enter.

Police did not release the suspect's name.
