WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Wichita police say they've arrested a 26-year-old man who allegedly beat his stepfather with a baseball bat and stabbed him multiple times.

Tyler Lewis was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail early Friday morning for aggravated battery and an aggravated weapons violation.

Officers responded at around 10:20 p.m. Thursday to a stabbing in the 4800 block of South Fern, near 47th Street South and Seneca. Police spokesperson Charley Davidson said they arrived to find a 59-year-old man with critical injuries.

Davidson said the investigation revealed that Lewis went to his stepfather's house and a disturbance ensued. That's when police say Lewis beat and stabbed the victim.

The victim remained hospitalized in fair condition Friday morning.

Officers located Lewis in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 2700 block of South Topeka and took him into custody without incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
