BENTLEY, Kan. (KAKE) -

Authorities say a 58-year-old man has died after a wreck near Bentley.

The incident happened just after 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Emergency crews responded to a submersion call near North 167th Street West and West 109th Street North, just west of Bentley.

The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office says a semi was traveling westbound on 109th Street and approached the 167th Street intersection, which has no stop signs. A white car traveling northbound on 167th Street approached the intersection at the same time and failed to yield to the semi.

The semi struck the white car and both vehicles went into a nearby drainage pond.

The victim in the white car, identified as Clifford Bliss, was transported to a hospital in critical condition. Sheriff officials confirm he later died from his injuries.

The driver of the semi was not hurt.
