KBI investigating Kansas prison inmate’s death

NORTON, Kan. (KAKE) -

Authorities are investigating the death of a 46-year-old inmate at a northwest Kansas prison. 

The Kansas Department of Corrections says Jeremy Palmer was pronounced dead after being transported to a hospital from the Norton Correctional Facility. The cause of his death is pending an autopsy. 

The KDOC and KBI are investigating Palmer's death, per policy. 

Palmer was serving a 97-month sentence for previous convictions in Barton, Ford and Thomas counties. They include drug possession with intent to distribute and flee and elude.
