KBI investigates deadly shooting near Plainville

PLAINVILLE, Kan. (KAKE) -

Authorities say they're investigating the shooting death of a 56-year-old man at his home in northwest Kansas. 

The Rooks County Sheriff's Office got a 911 call at around 9 a.m Monday after a family member went to a home near Plainville and found Mark Reif dead. Deputies arrived at the home in the 2600 block of 19th Road and discovered he died of gunshot wounds. 

Agents with the Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the Crime Scene Response Team responded at the request of the sheriff's office. The KBI calls Reif's death a homicide. 

Additional information has not been released.
